Sequel on the way

This is not quite the usual form for a sequel. It is a sequel to both the Lacy Pita book and the WECU book, but their stories were independent. The story so far is that in the Lacy Pita book, we see Lacy and Emme become professional level programmers and Lacy is befriended by an AI named Sherlock. In the WECU story, Kieran and Malaya organize a group of neighborhood kids into a group modeled after the Scooby Doo kids who solved crimes. The WECU kids find a boy who was missing, solving a real crime.

For a sequel to both, I use one 'supporting character', Arthur, who appears in both, then introduces members of both groups. Malaya goes to the same Girls Who Code camp that Lacy went to last year, kicking off her new identity. They become the computer girls of the story. Arthur introduces Kieran, Malaya, and Lilith from the WECU story to Emme, Lacy's first friend from the coding camp. Given their collection of skills, they first decide to do a documentary about how they found the missing boy, Bobby. Part of the story is that they start a movement of kids helping kids and making videos and graphic novels about the stories of the kids. It's a positive idea that 'kids watching out for kids' becomes a cultural norm, improving society.

There is a second story within the new book. In WECU, for a lark, the group wrote a fantasy short story to submit online. Each kid wrote a character as if it were themselves. These characters are used in the new installment to produce a more complete fantasy story in the middle of the book. The kids take the skills they developed making the 'Finding Bobby' documentary and create a fantasy movie in which they use CGI motion capture so that they can be the actors in the movie using digital avatars of adult sorcerers and sorceresses.

The effect of the fantasy movie is to further their reach in creating a web of kids watching out for kids.
